Took off from Breighton at 19::02 in Halifax Mk III (Sqn code EY-A Bomber Command) on Operation Berlin.

Shortly after completing the bomb-run and setting course for base, was shot down by flak and crashed at Fahlhorst 7 km west of Ludwigsfelde.
