Took off from Mildenhall at 23:38 in Stirling Mark I (Sqn code: LS-N Bomber Command) on an operation to Mulheim Germany.

Out-bound and crossing the Belgian coast aircraft was attacked and badly damaged by a night fighter such that the pilot turned back and crash-landed at Bree, Belgium.
