His pilot, 2Lt Frederick Herbert Sargant (British) was injured. 1917-07-20: seconded to the RFC as a 2nd-Lieutenant. 1917-08-12: Kirby was OK in DH-4, A-7426;after a forced landing at 2Sqn overshot and crashed on sunken perimeter road after the engine lost power over the lines, on a line patrol. 2Lt D McLaurian Ok/Lt JH Kirk Ok
