1918-07-03: embarked by air with 92Sqn to the European Front. 1918-09-18: Holbrook was missing in SE5a, D-6971; last seen descending over other side of lines after hit by AA fir North of Pont-a-Vendin while on offensive patrol. He was later confirmed shot down and made POW. He was repatriated 1918-12-18.

Lieutenant Clyde Meredith Holbrook was cremated.
