1915-11-14: RAeC cert# 2066. 1916-08-10: attached to 2Sqn, RFC. 1916-08-20: Griffin was missing in BE2c, 2613; last seen re-crossing the lines after escort to bomb raid. His observer-gunner, Lt Herbert Howard Whitehead, Canadian, was also missing. Griffing f reported a POW, in Holland, Whitehead died in the crash. Griffin repatriated 1918-11-22.
