1918-03-03: Camp Taliafero, Ft. Worth, Texas; Flynn was injured in Curtiss JN-4a, no serial#; when it crashed. His student pilot, Cadet Anthony Edward O'Carroll, Canadian, was piloting the aircraft and was also injured. 1919-07-02: Flynn took part as a pilot in the Russian Expedition and was wounded whilst loading an automatic pistol (self inflicted, accident).
