1917-04-23: attached to 4Sqn, RFC 1917-06-12: Flanagan was injured in RE-8, A-3547;when it overshot the landing, hit a hedge and over-turned on return from an artillery patrol. His pilot, 2Lt Charles Sutherland, (British), was OK. 1917-08-13: Flanagan was OK when his RE-8, B-757; hit a hangar guy rope on take off for an artillery observation and crashed into RE-8, A-3645. His pilot, 2Lt Gordon William McKenzie, (British) was also OK.
