1918-05-01: Eyres took off from Guston Road Aerodrome, Dover England on a survey flight of DH-4, D-1751 which had landed with engine problems. Supposedly repaired, the engine failed again during the test and the aircraft crashed attempting to land. His air-gunner, AM F R Peters, (no forenames in record) was also OK. 1918-05-09: Eyres took off from 218 Sqn, England and was OK in DH-4, D-1757 when it over-ran the aerodrome and crashed over the edge, breaking the propeller at Guston Road Aerodrome, Dover, England. He was alone on the DH-4.
