1918-08-30: Dotzert was OK in RE-8, E-21; after a forced landing at Ablancourt when his oil tank was shot through on a NF Patrol. His observer, 2Lt Kenneth Stigant Hill (British) was also OK. 1918-09-20: Dotzert was OK in RE-8, F-6007; when enemy fighters shot through his petrol tank on CA patrol to Vermand. His obs., 2Lt Hill was wounded, but recovered.
