1916-08-26: attached to 25Sqn 1916-10-10: Copeland wounded and made POW when FE2b, 4292; was shot down by an enemy aircraft and landed in enemy lines during bombing Oppy. His pilot 2Lt Moreton Hayne died of his wounds-injuries as a POW. Copeland was repatriated 1918-12-14.
