Was a NATO flying training student at 3 Advanced Flying School, Gimli, Manitoba. Was killed in a flying accident at 1030 hours approximately 3 miles north of Riverton Manitoba, while on a solo mission in T-33 - 21291. 1959-03-09 - A funeral service was held today for F/C Haukeland at 1330 hours in the Protestant Chapel with Flight Lieutenant GW Yates, Protestant Padre, officiating. The body was forwarded to Montreal for cremation.
