1918-05-17: McLean was piloting a JN4 with 2Lt. Gordon Frank Birchard (Canadian) in the second seat, when he lost control on a landing approach and crashed. He was slightly injured, Birchard was killed by the impact. Post WWI I can find no mention of McLean other than the above. However, he did complete his flight training and served in Canada to wars' end.
