Helmer was an American citizen who came to Toronto in 1917 to enlist in the RFC. 1918-08-08: Helmer died in Dolphn C-8073, last seen near Caix, flying South between Guillamont and Cayeux on patrol. His body was recovered by the infantry, identified and buried.
