1917-06-28: RAeC cert# 4941. Massey was posted as a pilot to HMS Killingholme, and from there to RNAS Station Catfirth in the Shetland Islands. He flew there solo in a Sopwith Baby float plane and served there until just before the armistice, flying Felixstowe F.3 flying boats on Maritime Patrol.
