1916-07-01: Firstbrook was flying a 'Presentation Aircraft', 'MauritiusII' when he and his observer, Lieutenant Reginald Burgess (British) were shot down by enemy aircraft near Clery-Longueval, east of the lines. Firstbrook was wounded and taken POW. Burgess was badly wounded and died on 1916-07-07. Firstbrook was repatriated through Switzerland on 1917-09-11.
