1916-07-21: Cooper and his observer, Lieut. Alfred Vernon Oliver-Jones (British) were both killed in their RE-7, , when it was shot down by AA fire near Beaulencourt. Cooper was injured and died as a POW. Oliver-Jones was killed in the crash. Cooper was a Flight Commander at the time of his death.
