1918-08-21: Woods was the pilot of a Felixstowe F2a flying boat. He lost control in a bank, due to engine failure, and crashed in the sea off Felixstowe. Others on the aircraft were: Canadian 2Lt Reginald Henry Bullock, 18, who drowned; Canadian Lt Walter Pendleton, injured, but recovered, Canadian 2Lt Douglas Montague Crater, British, (unhurt); A Mech 2 Robert Joseph Kinslow, British, (unhurt). Woods survived the war.
