Booth learned to fly at the Curtiss School at Newport News, Virginia, RAeC Cert. AM516. He was given a probationary appointment by the RNAS in Toronto on 1916-07-16 and was sent to England. The RNAS offer was rescinded and he was sent on for additional training as an Army Cadet at Abassia, Egypt and finally 58TS at Suez. He never did fly operationally, but in 1919-02-03 he was made a full Lieutenant, and de-mobbed.
