1917-05-14: to be Flying Officer (Lieutenant) in the RFC, and confirmed in that rank. 1918-09-27: posted to 110 Sqn, France. 1918-10-21: missing in DH-9a, F-1005, on bombing raid, made Pow. Windover was repatriated on 1918-12-08. His gunner, 2Lt Joseph Aubry Simson (British) was missing, presumed dead.
