Despite his interesting sounding job classification, Air Mechanic 2nd Class Parfitt's job was.....Accounting Clerk. He was a button counter accounting clerk tracking the expenditures within the Royal Naval Air Service. After assignment to 97 Squadron at Amiens, Parfitt and his pilot Perry were taking off in BE8 No.625, and it stalled at 150 feet and they were killed in the ensuing crash. -
