Meek enlisted in 1916-09-00 and was posted as a Lance Corporal to the 3rd Division Cyclists Depot at Toronto. He transferred soon after to the RFC on 1916-11-14. After flight training he was posted on 1917-07-13 to 29 Squadron, RFC, France.. He scored his first aerial victory two weeks after arriving there. He survived a forced landing on 1917-08-22 when flying Nieuport 23 B-3458, which came down on the allied side of the trenches after it was badly damaged by enemy ground fire on a trench strafing patrol. He finished his scoring at the end of January 1918 with his sixth. He was demobilized on 1919-02-03 and returned to Canada.
