1917-09-18: Williams was the instructor-pilot in the second seat of a Jenny piloted by Venezuelan Cadet John Edward Ludford, USAS, when it was in collision with another aircraft. The aircrew in the other aircraft were safe. Williams and Ludford were both killed.
