19 Operational Training Unit. Sergeant MacRae took off in Whitley aircraft Z 6933, reported by wireless part way through the flight and was not heard from again. Sergeants D.F. Drake, A. Blackman (RAF), F. Jennings (RAF), J. Sutcliffe (RAF), P/Os R.R. Flint (RAF), and R.E. Wheatley D.F.M. (RAF) were also killed.
