Heater crossed the border into Alberta in order to enlist in the CEF. He later transferred to the RFC-RAF and was in training at Lincoln when the crash happened. 1918-06-07: Heater died in DH.9, C 1201; when it was involved in a collision in mid-air with DH.6, C-7251 of 47TS flown by Sergeant A.W. Pilkin (not found in the record as hadn't passed licence yet) during aerial fighting practice.
