20th Battalion attached to the RFC. *SL* 1917-08-14: Doran and his pilot, were both killed in action when their RE-8 aircraft was shot down on an artillery shoot which pilot Curtis had described in a letter to his parent, as 'dangerous'. Their aircraft was attacked by three enemy fighters, and shot down. Their bodies were recovered, and buried together in Belgium. Cenotaph at Iroquois Point Cemetery, Iroquois, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry United Counties, ON Canada FAG lists birthdate as 1895-06-14
