1917-08-04: Crane was killed in a flying accident as a passenger. 1917-08-14: Crane (passenger) died in JN4a, C-167; when it lost flying speed in a turn too close to the ground, and nose-dived straight in. The pilot, 70407 Cdt-Instr 3AM Agustyn Maburn Phillips, (British) was also killed.
