1918-10-03: Coons and his air-gunner Sgt-Mech. F.S. New (British, no forenames) were killed when they crashed near Doullens during a mission, after colliding with another Brisfit (C-4753) in the formation during a recce of Cambrai. The other aircraft successfully returned to base and was repaired by the squadron.
