Book of Remembrance lists him as Canadian Army (Artillery), but he was RFC at the the time of his death as per his grave marker. 1918-02-19: Campbell was missing in Bristol F2B, C-4837; shot down in flames after aerial combat, while on offensive patrol. His air-gunner, Lt John Harvey Stream, (British) was also missing. Both were presumed dead.
