Bousfield died in a flying accident during flight training at Beamsville Ontario. He and his instructor-pilot 2Lt Robert Leroy Jacks were both killed when their aircraft fell to the ground and burst into flame after a collision. The fate of the other aircraft and it's crew is not mentioned.
