Book of Remembrance lists him as Canadian Infantry, but he was RFC at the the time of his death. **S.L.** Bateman was selected in Canada for instruction in aviation. He died 1916-05-18 in a flying training accident at 10TS, Gosport. No details as to circumstance or of aircraft involved was given.
