F/O JA Baldwin died due to injuries from a fire in the Officers Mess after he entered the building to retrieve some personal items. He was overcome by smoke and carried unconscious out of the burning building by P/O FH O'Neil from Toronto. He died from extensive burns suffered in the fire later the same day in the General Hospital.
