1916-03-00: observer, on probation After training he was assigned to the 8N Sqn (an army co-operation unit, mainly artillery spotting and reconnaissance & based at La Bellevue aerodrome). He was killed in a flying accident on 1916-05-01. The pilot, Flt. Lt Archibald Paul Dickie (British) was injured in the crash: "the aircraft stalled, nosedived and wrecked on takeoff for an artillery support patrol".
