The CC-177 Globemaster III strategic airlifter transports troops, cargo and oversized combat equipment. Rapid, reliable and flexible, it is equipped with advanced digital avionics.

The Globemaster can fly long distances and land in remote airfields, making it a premier transporter for military, humanitarian and peacekeeping missions. One of these aircraft can haul three CH-146 Griffon helicopters with refuelling tanks, or up to 102 paratroopers. RCAF web page

Production started as USAF serial 07-7701. Rolled out of paint shop in Canadian markings on 16 July 2007. Carried US civil registration N9500B for manufacturer's tests. First flight 23 July 2007, at Long Beach, California. Left Long Beach for Canada on 9 August 2007. On static display at Abbotsford air show on 11 August 2007. Delivered to CFB Trenton, Ontario for use by 429 (T) Squadron, part of 8 Wing, on 12 August 2007. Seen at CFB Bagotville, Quebec on 21 August 2007. Flew 30 tonnes of hurricane relief supplies to Jamaica on 23 August 2007, round trip took about 12 hours. First mission to Afghanistan on 30 August 2007. Landed at Kandahar at night, crew used night vision goggles. Visited Pearson Airport, Toronto on 23 November 2008, carrying rescue workers from a training exercise at Thunder Bay, Ontario. Seen at Spangdahlem, Germany on 3 and 4 March 2009. Seen at Hamburg, Germany on 11 May 2010. Seen at Brize Norten, UK in August 2010. Seen at Paphos, Cyprus on 1 December 2010. Passed through Prestwick, UK on 18 March 2011 and again on 27 December 2011. Seen at Bangalore, India in November 2012. Seen at Prestwick, UK on 17 June 2013. Production started as USAF serial 07-7702. Under test at Long Beach by 5 October 2007, registered as N9500H. Arrived at CFB Trenton on 19 October 2007. Operational at Trenton by 22 October 2007, when it flew to Inuvik, NWT. Flew load of armoured vehicles from Fredericton, NB to CFB Cold Lake, Alberta on 23 October 2007. Seen at Calgary International Airport on 20 November 2007. Passed through UK late December 2007 as flight CFC4040, en route to Afghanistan. Seen at Spangdahlem, Germany on 5 January 2008. Visited Lackland AFB, Texas in August 2009. Seen at Pafos, Cyprus on 21 September 2009, together with 177703 and Polaris 15002. Seen at Boeing maintenance facility at Kelly field, Texas in June 2010. On display at Windsor air show in August 2010. At Spangdahlem, Germany on 18 and 20 March 2011. Seen at Lossiemouth, UK on 9 April 2013. Seen at Alexandria, Louisiana on 16 August 2013. Production started as USAF serial 07-7703. Under test at Long Beach, California in February 2008, registered as N9500N. Delivered to CFB Trenton in mid March 2008. Seen at Kandahar, Afghanistan on 20 March 2008. Damaged at Douglas, Long Beach on 2 April 2008, when an explosion occurred at the oxygen servicing panel. Preliminary investigation shows alcohol had been used to clean oxygen connector, and came into contact with pure oxygen. Seen at Brussels-Melsbroek in Belgium on 19 October 2008. Delivered CH-146 serial number 146491 to Leeuwarden, Holland on 22 May 2009, for a NATO SAR exercise. Seen at Pafos, Cyprus on 21 September 2009, together with 177702 and Polaris 15002. To Malta in February 2011, to pick up civilians from Libya. Passed through Prestwick, UK in mid March 2011, en route to Mediterranean for Operation Mobile, UN air support to Libyan rebellion. Seen at Prestwick, UK on 29 July 2011 and on 19 November 2011. Seen at Pearson International Airport (Toronto) on 9 January 2012. 2024-03-29

Seen at Victorville, California in March 2010. Seen at Paphos, Cyprus on 1 December 2010. Seen at Brize Norten, UK on 14 May 2014. To Resolute Bay, Nunavut on 20 March 2015, delivering snow vehicles for Exercise Norex 2015. On static display at Abbotsford air show in August 2015, with 429 Squadron. 2024-03-29
