403 Squadron RCAF (Stalk and strike), RAF North Weald, Essex. Warrant Officer Class II Edward Bradley Argue (RCAF), flying Spitfire Vb AD 206 KH-R as part of Circus 137, escorting aircraft to bomb the railyards at Abbeville, France, was shot down over Cambron, France by German ace Hauptmann Johannes Siefert of Jagdgeschwader 26. Warrant Officer Argue was badly injured in the attack but survived to become a Prisoner of War. Sent to Stalag Luft 6, Warrant Officer Argue was later one of the 11 RCAF prisoners repatriated in an early Prisoner of War exchange of sick and severely injured Allied and German Prisoners of War and returned safely to the UK October 26, 1943
