1 Service Flying training School (SFTS) Camp Borden, Ontario. Nomad aircraft 3512 was flying in formation with Nomad aircraft 3521 while searching for Nomad aircraft 3502 which had become lost on a training flight and believed to have crashed the previous day. The two aircraft were involved in a mid-air collision and both crashed into Lake Muskoka, Ontario with the loss of all four aircrew aboard
Leading Aircraftman Phillip William James Gosling (RCAF) and Sergeant Lionel Francis (RAF) in 3512, Leading Aircraftman Theodore Scribner Bates (RCAF) and Flight Lieutenant Peter Campbell (RAF) in 3521, were all killed in this flying accident
