p419 Moose Squadron (Moosa Aswayita). Target - Merseburg, Germany. The crew of Lancaster aircraft KB 799 had completed the bomb run, were heading home and were near Schweinfurt, Germany when they were attacked from below by a German night fighter aircraft. The Lancaster burst into flames and the crew was ordered to bail out, only Flying Officer J.Q. Eddy managed to get out and he was taken Prisoner of War. Flight Lieutenant G.O. Tedford, P/Os G.D.M.
