6 Bomber Group March 28, 1943

4 Wellingtons from 429 and 431 Squadrons were ordered on a sea search. The crews were unsuccessful and returned safely to base. Richard Koval (6bombergroup.ca)

118 (F) Cougar Squadron RCAF, Annette Island, Alaska. Flight Lieutenant Jarred, flying Kittyhawk I aircraft AK 821 (Canadian serial 1037) joined a formation of fighters escorting a Dakota C-47 aircraft with the bodies of three USO (United Service Organizations) members killed an a weather-related crash a couple of days previously aboard Noordyne Norseman IV aircraft 2481. Jarred attempted an upward roll at low altitude with a 300 lb. bomb attached to the belly of the Kittyhawk, causing the aircraft to stall, enter into a spin and crash one mile north-west of the runway at Annette Island. Flight Lieutenant Jarred was killed in the crash
