6 Bomber Group March 28/29, 1943

15 Halifaxes from 405, 408, and 419 Squadrons were joined by 115 Wellingtons from 420, 424, 425, 426, 427, 428, 429, and 431 Squadrons on an attack at St.Nazaire. The crews were over the target at between 13,000 and 19,000 feet, releasing 224,000 lbs of high explosives and 228,000 lbs of incendiaries. According to reports, the port area was hit. 419 Moose Squadron (Moosa Aswayita). Halifax aircraft BB 283 went down near Escoublac-La-Baule during operations over St Nazaire, France.
